Problem with conflicting schedules

I work in Home Automation space, and I am trying to create a feature where the user can create multiple heating schedules for the rooms in his house. For example, bedroom temp at 16 degrees from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM every day. A user would also want to create a schedule called Away which will set his bedroom and bathroom at 20 degrees from Monday to Friday, every day. How to solve this conflicting schedules problem? I have created a UI where the user can set a priority to the schedule, but the team is not very happy with the solution. Please give me insights.
