Why is there a blue dot every time someone uploads a video I’m subscribed to?

I can’t really see the amount of videos my subscriptions have uploaded. I find it annoying just to tap on everyone of my subscriptions to have that blue dot removed. I find this dot inadequate and YouTube should remove it.
