Why all chatbot iPad apps, have the chat pane on the left?

On iPad, why all chatbots have the chat pane on the left? That placement does not go with mobile best practices. Optimal place would be to the right (content pane is on the right), so the microphone icon can be in the lower right corner. But I see literally all iPad bot apps have it reverse. Why is that?
