What is the best path for sending users to a referral link?
Our company is partnering with a third-party website to provide additional support work for us. Our support employees will be referring customers who have complex issues to this third-party site.
What would be the best flow to send these customers off from Support?
1) Support (explaining to user why they are being referred) > Third-party site:
2) Support (explaining to user why they are being referred) > Our own landing page (with more info, explaining this partnership, etc.) > Third-party site:
With (1), this keeps the flow shorter by omitting the middle landing page.
However, for a customer who decides to bookmark/revisit the link later, they may lose context of what it is. It's kinda like opening up a site in a new tab, but checking it out later, you don't remember how you ended up in that site or why it was even open in the first place.
Suggestions?
