What is the best approach to have Design a Fullscreen Image Blog Type

So we have a Fashion related Blog in development and my problem is that we have certain pages like the Blog Post itself where it looks awesome to have full width 70% device height background images on the top of the page.

But the starting page currently looks like your standard blog page with a card based layout for the posts, because it would look weird to have such a weird big image on top of the start page.

That leads to the transition between Post and Starting Page to look weird, we really wanna keep the design with the big image on top, but how to utilize that on a landing/start page of a Blog without confusing the user.
