Vertical versus Horizontal Scrolling Patterns
I've seen sites that have horizontally scrolling content as their main content. For example, Trello and Jira have many columns that extend out horizontally. The page then allows for scrolling. I've always heard that web pages were meant to be infinite in the vertical direction and that was the pattern to try to follow. I would assume it would be easier to follow a vertical pattern and use the regular scrolling than have to conform to the horizontal scrolling.
I'm wondering if there is a vertical pattern that could be used in these cases or if it is now just a standard to support horizontal scrolling.
