UX-Redesign for an ecommerce homepage [on hold]

I was wondering if there are any good approaches to redesign a homepage (just the Home-page, not the entire shop!) for an ecommerce platform. I got the task to do this and usually I think about the information architecture a lot and I rearrange and emphasize the content considering the stakeholders input and creating the ideal UX. I was wondering about a more playful method to rearrange the content. Do you have any ideas on this? THX M
