Use Case Documents

I have a colleague who's a UX person who is adamant that the Use Case document is unworkable. He wants to directly do it his way (the UX solution) without following the UCD, and insists that I do it that way too. He won't budge on this. It's causing huge problems for me (also a UX person) and I'm caught between him and the PM.

How should I tackle this?
