Tips for designing WordPress websites for clients

I'm going to be designing websites as part of my IT business and I'm using the extremely popular, premium, WordPress theme Avada by Theme Fusion. https://avada.theme-fusion.com/

There are plenty of templates to pick from to get me started and give me ideas. My only concern is being able to make each website unique to each client without them all looking the same. There are so many design elements the Avada theme has to offer  sometimes you get overwhelmed into one I should/could pick. You can see more information on it here https://avada.theme-fusion.com/design-elements/

My question is how do I design websites uniquely for each of my clients without getting into a routine of, if something has worked on one website why not re-use it again? I'm not a illustrator or a vert a good drawer of any kind but I have found myself naturally using wire-frames (as they call it the web design world) on paper to roughly detail what I want to the web-page to look like.

Obviously with any design I do, I always start with the homepage as it seems logical. Now from my understanding home pages can be used in two forms. One as a central hub/portal with a bit of basic information in which the viewer would click on a link or a menu and it will take them to another page to see the full details. The other form of a homepage is showcasing almost everything into a one-page navigation in which the viewer would use anchor links to jump to certain sections of the page . In the latter case I wouldn't necessarily need additional pages would I?

If I was to create a home page in the first form with links and menus to the other pages, is it down to me or the client to provide enough information to fill the pages? I can apply some CSS padding or make the images bigger to compensate for the lack of content, but would it be down to me to try and work with what I've got or do I nicely ask the client for more content? Only problem is if the client barley has any content we're going to have a blank canvas of a website...

Does anyone have any tips or places I can read so that I can get some design ideas, or maybe some of you might be able to briefly share how you started out? I purely want to work as WordPress designer at the moment as I only know a little bit of CSS enough to reverse engineer to make minor tweaks, so I have zero web-coding knowledge. Some people might say I'm cheating using a premium theme but if it works, saves time, it's versatile and gets the job done, why not!
