Surface Pro 4 Screen Resolution

Does anyone have any experience designing an app for the surface pro 4? The screen resolution is 2736 x 1824 which is pretty vast in comparison to some of the other resolutions I have designed for. I am reading a lot of complaints where this makes elements appear to be extremely small and fonts illegible.

What is a safe resolution to use for mock-ups or is there anything I need to consider when creating elements for my layouts?
