Starting UI/UX -Advice [closed]

I am actively trying to chart a path for myself to become more versed in UI/UX. Apart from traditional University or College courses- are there any other avenues that you would suggest? Currently have a playlist of videos on youtube - but maybe any specific ones? More importantly how can one start building a portfolio without any projects or job experience?

Sorry if I sound like a goober, honestly looking for some advice and direction.
