Social Media Aggregation> [on hold]

I have been wireframing a site over the past few days for a music festival... and another member in my web team has suggested a page dedicated to gallery/social media feed aggregation to reinforce the social experience of the event.

I question whether a user would actually find this page even remotely useful, since most people are quite capable of connecting with the event's social media if they desire (and may likely be coming to the site from a social platform in the first place). Not that I think the page would really hurt the user experience, but in the same breath, it is a fairly information packed site and I'd like to cut out the fat where I can.

Is there any user experience justification for a page that simply aggregates easily available social media content?
