Should I use audience-based navigation or object-based navigation?

I have a site where we have a huge collection of content for learners, educators, practitioners etc, but there's a huge amount of object overlap. I.e worksheets, courses, factsheets, videos, images, webinars, reports, publications, tools etc. So should I go for audience or object primary nav?

If we go for audience it would help new site visitors to find the information that's relevant to them via landing pages, however object would be more future proof and easy for users to filter.

I'd appreciate some advice please.
