researching on user behaviors in social media in the filed of HCI

I know HCI is a diverse field specially in graduate level and I'm planning for graduate schools and looking for a good research topic in HCI field but as everyone is talking about design aspect of HCI, I was wondering if social media and studying user behaviors in social media could be related to HCI?
