Required fields for UK card payment [on hold]

by UXStackExchange on September 7, 2016 in Devices, E-Commerce, Forms, General, Information Architecture, Interaction Design, Interfaces, JavaScript, LA UX Jobs, Marketing, Material Design, Mobile, Personas, Product Strategy, Prototyping, Resources, Responsive Web Design, Stakeholder interviews, Testing, UI, Usability, User Experience, User Interaction, User Research, User testing, UX Design, UX Rockstars, UX Toolbox, Visual Design

I am building a new ecommerce site. Our current checkout has fields for Issue number and Start date, although these are not required fields but has been needed for some card types in the past. Apparently this is confusing some customers who do not require this information for their card type and there is some discussion as to whether there are any UK cards types that still require these fields.

Are there any UK card types still around that require these fields or can we just remove them all together?

Thanks
