prestashop 1.7 standard theme ux? [on hold]

Currently I have been asked upgrade our company's eshop have the basic look of the prestashop 1.7 standard theme (Currenly running prestashop 1.6). The hope is to improve conversions by using a simple and more modern theme. I have mixed feelings about the ps 1.7 theme. So I wanted to ask if anyone has an opinion on this ux wise.
