Label text color over photo

Need to put the name of the user over his / her photo. Tinder uses white color, I decided do the same way. I do not know how but on Tinder label always look nice, but many of my user has white background on their photo, or light colours, and then impossible to read text. Tried set shadow, but it is ugly and useless. Do you have any idea?
