Is this a decent initial PACT analysis?
Not sure where to ask this question, but here seemed suitable since PACT is a part of design.
I am learning human computer interaction and wanted to perform a PACT(people, activity, context, technology) analysis on the following design request:
You have been asked to design an interactive mobile music learning environment for children to support their development of effective music skills. The system must be appealing and fun to use, engage the children, and enable navigation by a variety of means (e.g. by topic, or through sequential lessons, or by activity). The application must also store the children’s details, greet them when they enter, store a record of their performance on various games and tasks, and recommend areas for further attention.
This is the initial analysis I created:
People: Young children with no extensive technical skills, undeveloped thinking skills (i.e. cant expect great amount of thought and decision making), and short attention spans. Music teachers with average technical skills (not tech savvy, but probably able to use personal computers and smartphones) and some level of musical experience. Wide variety of backgrounds, especially for children.
Activity: Greet students, detect when students enter, record sound (student perform music piece), play sound (music lesson or song), recommend lessons, input student details, student or teacher chooses lesson.
Context: classroom environment. Closed space with several people. Need to find way to prevent sound pollution and avoid different students from interfering from each other.
Technology: mobile device for main navigation (e.g. tablet), a wearable device (e.g. wrist device) to detect student location and record sound. A teacher could have higher control level through a computer.
