Is the CC field becoming redundant in email clients?
I vaguely remember using the CC field in email clients, a long time ago, but now I never do.
If I want to add recipients to an email, I add them via the 'to' field, but make it clear in the message body that they are not the primary recipient.
For example:
Hi Karen
This simple convention is enough to show who is the recipient and who is copied. It is well understood.
I rarely use the BCC field, except when addressing a long list of recipients that should not (necessarily) know each other's email address.
If BCC was used for any other purpose, effectively secretly copying someone on an email thread, I would feel this was not ethical.
So my question is, are CC and BCC redundant on modern email clients?
