Icon design for user actions with restricted color options [on hold]

My task is to create icons for actions in our web-application. We want a minimalistic, iconic approach for easy user access, but CEO demands that the user icons match up our total advertisings.

Draft icons where not nice, but followed a simple pattern, active/new objects are black, untouched objects are grey. Therefore the draft for adding a root object to the tree was like this:

addroot

Requirements for the final icons are: round, blueish background, simple white iconography (ideally only white).

The above draft converted to the new requirements would now look like this:

addroot converted

But somehow this seems not right in there is nothing expressing that something new is created.

Same problem occurs on deletion:

deletion converted

The dotted line indicates there's something missing, but is this recognizable?

How can I express items created/removed/moved with this simplistic colorset and for relatively small size? Any hints welcome.
