How is Framer faster/easier/better than designing/prototyping in the browser
Last night I started trying out the new release of Framer. It has a nice UI.
However, it seems like you have to write a fair amount of code, but none of this code is really useable outside of Framer.
I can code CSS and Javascript. Do people find using Framer much of a timesaver compared to just writing CSS and Javascript inside a text editor (code that might actually be useable later on in production)?
Framer has made up its own syntax. So I'm basically making a pseudo-website in this way, rather than writing real, usable code, in order to make a prototype, which doesn't feel great to me?
Is it only popular because it is a friendlier way for designer to dabble in code? Or do developers actually find it easier/quicker to make a prototype this way than they would with actual CSS and Javascript?
