How do you design a UX for a novel product?

Our teams have a need to know exactly the real-time status of the remote colleagues. We want to know 1) what our remote teammates are working on, 2) who they're talking with, 3) which project they're working at, 4) where they're.

To conclude, this novel product shows all the real-time status of our teammates.

The function is good for our team. Just feel very difficult to have a right UX and UI for this app. The challenge is no any app sharing the similar function, so I couldn't build the UX/UI from some drafts.

(This may be one possible UX/UI. Any other idea?)

Can you share what would be your lean approaches / tricks to explore, test, verify the right UX/UI for the end users?
