Help to design an UI for object placement in AR using Y axis?
I'm designing an AR furniture placement app, similar to IKEA Place, and I'm struggling to design an interface with good ux for the placement of a ceiling lamp in the Real World. As different enviorments will have different heights, a fixed placement would be inefficient for some enviorments. So, I have to come up with an intuitive method to move the lamp up and down on the Real World.
As the "slide up" and "slide down" actions move the lamp on the Z axis, I'm having trouble to think of a similar action to perform this task.
I've come up with an idea of a "double-tap + slide", like the single-hand "zoom in and out" of Google Maps, but I've found it not to be intuitive at all.
The second option is a simple slider, but I'm looking for an option with minimal interference on the UI.
Thanks for the help!!
