funding graduate programs in ischools

I'm a computer science student and I would like to pursue my graduate studies in HCI and finally become a UX researcher and as most HCI programs are in schools of information not school of engineering and computer science, I was wondering how does funding graduate students differ from ischools to engineering schools?(if there is any difference)
