Compared to smart phones, how will smart watches shape our behaviour over time?
Smart phones have been with us for a while to the point where we cant imagine a life without them. I think we can be pretty certain its shaped our behaviour in a certain way as well as built a kind of relationship with our phones.
For example it has made us more connected to our friends faraway but distracted from those right next to us. In a way, it also acts as en an enhancement of our memory. it has also caused things like phone addiction and posture issues. The apps predominantly used are just as much as the reason than the phones themselves.
With that in mind, my question is how are smartwatches going to shape our behaviour in the longterm? Right now they are more focused on fitness and health, and gives us a continuous glimpse into and insights about our vitals. How would our behaviours change based on these and other possible uses of smartwatches?
