Colors that represent "good" like a charitable organization or not-for-profit? [on hold]

I am trying to pick out colors for a website that will be for my organization/not-for-profit. We are doing a lot of charitable events and charity work and our trying to pick colors that will represent values of good, charity, positivity, etc.

I am a programmer but I am not a designer or artist for that matter. So i am looking for guidance and choosing colors for this.

My initial thoughts were white paired with another color like blue or red.

But I am wondering if there is actually research or studies on this that relate certain colors with the values I have stated above.

So my actually question is what could be some good color combinations to represent the values of good, charity, positivity, etc.?
