Best practice for application on boarding? [on hold]

I have been building a xamarin.android application, but I a confused regarding the latest trends for application on boarding. I have come across Interactive tour and looked into showcase view and taptarget view but they seems a bit old. I am new to UI/UX. I need your suggestions.
