Apple vs Windows laptops for UX / Design – Screen knit / RGB sRGB color gamut
Hopefully this is not in the completely wrong dimension of the web. If so; my apologies up front!
I am hoping someone here working in the industry could share some knowledge in regards to screens for laptops.
Looking at purchasing a new one for UX/Design specifically, the choice in the windows realm is dizzying to say the least. Considering most of them have really awful color representation. In the same tier bracket in Macs you'll get a MacBook Air (2020) which we all know is not the most optimal choice for Photoshop/AI/iD/Sketch etc.
So what is the verdict? Is it ok to use a low/mid tier budget laptop which has lower knit and low RGB/sRGB accuracey? Or will it be dangerous when working with clients, as things will be skewed and it will cause unecessary extra work at the end. Perhaps if there are any clever ways of finding the colors on other devices to mitigate the isuse?
Example machines
- ASUS VivoBook S15 M533IA 15,6" FHD
- Huawei MateBook D 14" FHD
- Huawei MateBook 14" 2K touch
- Lenovo ThinkPad L15 15" Full HD
Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks :)
