Any idea what the average corporate logo aspect ratio is?
Right off the top, I understand companies' logos' aspect ratios vary wildly, and that the best solution will take this into account when displaying a company's logo - so please don't respond with "it varies" or "just use adaptive design and don't worry about it."
The app I design for lets companies create a profile. The most visually interesting element is their logo. Not only do I need to design pages that best display this information, but a printed report heavily featuring their logo.
I understand that my design needs to work both for vertical and horizontal logos, but I'm super curious if anyone has researched the average aspect ratio of logos. I'd guess it was somewhat horizontal. Maybe 1.5:1. Does anyone have a more evidence-based theory on this?
